Morocco Creates Over 92,000 New Businesses by End of October 2025

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: Morocco recorded the creation of 92,232 new businesses by the end of October 2025, according to the latest figures released by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), underscoring sustained entrepreneurial momentum across the Kingdom.

Data from OMPIC’s general dashboard of the business creation barometer show that the newly established enterprises comprised 66,391 legal entities and 25,841 individual businesses, reflecting broad-based participation in economic activity.

From a sectoral perspective, commerce emerged as the leading driver of new business formation, accounting for 35.75 percent of total registrations during the period. Construction, public works, and real estate activities followed with 19.74 percent, while various service activities represented 17.57 percent.

Transport-related businesses accounted for 7.67 percent of newly created companies, ahead of industrial activities at 7.03 percent. Hotels and restaurants represented 5.70 percent, while the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector accounted for 2.94 percent. Agriculture and fishing made up 1.81 percent, closely followed by financial activities at 1.80 percent.

Regionally, Casablanca-Settat maintained its position as Morocco’s primary economic hub, ranking first with 28,748 newly created companies. The Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region followed with 12,601 new businesses, while Rabat-Salé-Kénitra recorded 11,779. Marrakech-Safi ranked fourth with 10,524 new enterprises.

Other regions also demonstrated notable entrepreneurial activity, including Fès-Meknès with 6,351 new companies, the Oriental region with 6,165, Souss-Massa with 6,149, and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra with 3,356. Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab registered 2,604 new businesses, while Béni Mellal-Khénifra, Drâa-Tafilalet, and Guelmim-Oued Noun recorded 2,274, 1,992, and 689 companies, respectively.

In terms of legal structure, single-member limited liability companies (SARL-AU) continued to dominate, representing 64.9 percent of all new business creations. They were followed by limited liability companies (SARL) at 34.4 percent. Joint-stock companies (SA) accounted for 0.2 percent, while other legal forms represented 0.5 percent.

Overall, the figures highlight the continued dynamism of Morocco’s entrepreneurial landscape, driven primarily by trade, construction, and services, alongside a strong concentration of business activity in key economic regions.
