Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram Speaks at Global South Roundtable on Connectivity in Bahria University

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: On 20th May 2025, Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF) participated as a speaker in the Roundtable discussion on “Global South: Shared Prosperity and Socioeconomic Development through Regional Connectivity” Jointly Organized by World Peace Diplomats & Bahria University, Islamabad.
The Roundtable discussion was organized and chaired by Prof. Dr. Adam Saud, Principal of the Humanities and Social Sciences School at Bahria University, Islamabad. Dr. Saud warmly welcomed all guests and participants, setting a positive and engaging tone for the event and highlighted the critical importance of regional connectivity in fostering shared prosperity and socioeconomic development within the Global South.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram delivered a speech on “Sustainable Development Opportunities through South – Central Asia Regional Connectivity” highlighted that the region can achieve its sustainable development goals through connectivity projects like transport corridors and energy pipelines. China’s BRI and the SCO are pivotal in this integration by offering financial resources, infrastructure development, and platforms for sustainable growth. Pakistan serves as a crucial strategic bridge, providing connectivity through CPEC and Gwadar Port, fostering regional peace, and promoting economic interdependence.
The Roundtable featured a diverse group of speakers from various backgrounds who delivered speeches on their respective topics.
