Myanmar Committed to Holding Free and Fair Election

Naypyidaw, The Gulf Observer: Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Prime Minister, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to conducting a free and fair general election in Myanmar.
In a message sent to mark the 77th Chin National Day on February 20, 2025, the Senior General stated that the SAC is making extensive efforts to ensure an electoral process that is just and transparent. He emphasized that the administration is focused on protecting voters from intimidation, coercion, and undue influence, reinforcing its goal of holding a multi-party democratic election.
He further underlined that national peace and stability are essential prerequisites for a successful election, urging the Chin people to remain united and work collaboratively for the peace and development of their region. He called on all ethnic communities, including the Chin, to support government efforts in resolving ongoing armed conflicts to achieve lasting stability, rule of law, and national progress.
The SAC has consistently reiterated its position that a stable political environment is necessary for the democratic process to move forward, highlighting its dedication to ensuring the integrity of Myanmar’s electoral system.
