Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has announced that approximately 68.7 million people visited the Two Holy Mosques during the month of Jumada al-Thani 1447 AH, marking an increase of 2.1 million visitors compared to the previous month.

According to the authority, around 30 million worshipers visited the Grand Mosque in Makkah during the period, including 94,700 who performed prayers at the Hijr Ismail. Meanwhile, the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah received about 23.1 million visitors, of whom 1.3 million performed prayers at the Rawdah Al-Sharif. In addition, nearly 2.3 million visitors paid their respects to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his two companions.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in coordination with the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques, reported that the total number of Umrah pilgrims from within the Kingdom and abroad during Jumada al-Thani alone exceeded 11.9 million. This growth reflects the increasing frequency of Umrah pilgrimages, supported by the efficiency and quality of services and facilities provided to pilgrims.

Statistics also showed that more than 1.7 million Umrah pilgrims arrived from outside the Kingdom during the same month, highlighting the positive impact of digital platforms and integrated logistical services in streamlining arrival procedures and facilitating the performance of rituals with ease.

The continued rise in Umrah pilgrims forms part of the Kingdom’s broader efforts to develop the Hajj, Umrah, and visitation system in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. These efforts aim to facilitate access for Muslims worldwide to the Two Holy Mosques while delivering a comprehensive spiritual experience that prioritizes pilgrims’ comfort and safety from trip planning through departure.

The ministry and the authority reaffirmed their commitment to implementing joint initiatives to further enhance service quality within the Two Holy Mosques and across all stages of the pilgrim journey, alongside ongoing development of digital and operational systems to ensure a smooth and reassuring experience for all visitors.
