New Air Cargo Route Links Urumqi and Budapest
Urumqi, The Gulf Observer: A new air cargo route connecting Urumqi, the capital of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with Budapest, the capital of Hungary, was officially launched on Thursday, according to SF Airlines.
The initial schedule for this route includes one to two round-trip flights per week between Urumqi and Budapest, as stated by the air cargo carrier. The route is primarily designed to transport imported and exported goods, including e-commerce products and specialty items, facilitating smoother trade between China and Europe.
SF Airlines emphasized that this new route is expected to inject vitality into China-Europe trade and commerce by providing reliable and efficient air logistics services. With Xinjiang now serving as a comprehensive logistics hub connecting Europe and Asia, the route underscores the region’s growing significance in international trade.
As China’s largest air cargo carrier by fleet size, operating 87 freighters, SF Airlines remains committed to expanding its network of routes and enhancing its international cargo transport capacity. The company aims to provide sustained support to China’s economic growth and the Belt and Road Initiative through continued innovation and expansion in air logistics.
Prior to the launch of this route, SF Airlines inaugurated a cargo route linking Urumqi with the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, in July, further strengthening the region’s role as a key logistics center in Eurasia.
