New Zealand defeat Australia by 89 runs in 1st match of T20 World Cup
Sydney, The Gulf Observer: Devon Conway starred with a 92 not out off 58 balls as New Zealand defeated Australia by 89 runs in the first game of Super-12 stage on Saturday. The match at the Sydney Cricket Ground saw the Blackcaps scoring 201 for 3 in 20 overs and then bundling out Australia for 111 runs in 17.1 overs. Tim Southee picked 3 wickets for 6 runs while Mitchell Santner returned figures of 3 for 31. It is worth noting that this is Australia’s biggest ever defeat in terms of runs in T20 World Cup.
