Oman and Pakistan discuss human rights issues
Muscat: Sheikh Abdullah bin Showin Al Hosani, Chairman of Commission for Human Rights of Oman, met Walid Iqbal, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Human Rights in the Pakistani Senate.
During the meeting, an introduction was given of the committee work and activities, and its relationship with international organisations and committees, in addition to its role in monitoring and receiving communications in the Sultanate of Oman. The two sides also discussed joint cooperation frameworks and ways to develop them, in service of human rights issues.
The meeting was attended by Amir Hamzah, Advisor to the Pakistani Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pakistani Schools, from the Pakistani side. From the committee, Shatha bint Abdul Majeed Al Zadjali, Director of the Department of Organisations and International Relations, and Iman bint Khalid Al Saidia, who is in charge of heading the International Organizations Department, attended the meeting.
