Oman and Tunisia Explore Strategies for Women’s Support and Empowerment

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al Najar, Minister of Social Development of Oman, met with Amal Belhaj Moussa, Minister of Family, Women, Children, and the Elderly of Tunisia, to discuss various issues of mutual interest and explore ways to leverage their respective expertise in supporting and empowering women across different spheres.
During the meeting, the ministers exchanged insights on childhood and elderly care sectors, as well as programs aimed at empowering women. They emphasized the importance of collaboration in enhancing the welfare and development of these key societal groups.
Dr. Laila Al Najar also toured the Sadiq Idris Centre for Elderly Care, where she examined its facilities and various sections. She was briefed on the center’s experience in elderly care, including the diverse programs, activities, and services provided to support this segment of society.
Additionally, Dr. Al Najar visited the Centre for Research, Studies, Documentation, and Information on Women. She gained insights into the rights of women and their participation in public services, including political, economic, social, and cultural spheres.
These visits and discussions underscore the commitment of both Oman and Tunisia to advancing social development and enhancing the role of women in their respective societies.
