Oman and Uzbekistan Hold Session of Political Talks
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: A session of political talks was held on Wednesday between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Uzbekistan, underscoring the historic relations between the two nations and their mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields, including diplomacy, economy, culture, and science.
The session was chaired by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi and Uzbek Foreign Minister Baxtiyor Saidov. Both ministers exchanged views on the development of the Arab-Israeli conflict, with a particular focus on the Palestinian cause and the ongoing aggressive actions by the Israeli occupation government. They also discussed several other regional and international issues of mutual interest.
A significant outcome of the session was the signing of an agreement to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, private, and service passports from both countries. This agreement aims to facilitate easier travel and strengthen diplomatic ties between Oman and Uzbekistan.
The session was attended by Sheikh Humaid Ali Al Maani, Head of the Global Affairs Department at the Omani Foreign Ministry, Abdusalam Khatamov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Sultanate of Oman, and several officials from both sides.
