Oman Announces Eid Al-Fitr 1446 AH Holiday Schedule for Public and Private Sectors

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: In accordance with the Royal Orders, the holiday for Eid Al-Fitr 1446 AH in Oman will commence on Saturday, 29 March 2025, for both the public and private sectors.
The conclusion of the holiday will be determined based on the sighting of the crescent moon, following two possible scenarios:
Scenario A: If the first day of Eid falls on Sunday, 30 March 2025, the holiday will end on Tuesday, 3rd Shawwal 1446 AH (1 April 2025), with official working hours resuming on Wednesday, 2 April 2025.
Scenario B: If the first day of Eid falls on Monday, 31 March 2025, the holiday will end on Thursday, 4th Shawwal 1446 AH (3 April 2025), with official working hours resuming on Sunday, 6 April 2025.
The Ministry of Labour stated that work may be conducted during the holiday period if necessary, provided that employees are compensated in accordance with applicable regulations.
Eid Al-Fitr, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, is a significant occasion observed with prayers, gatherings, and charitable activities across the Sultanate.
