Oman Condemns Israeli Prime Minister’s Remarks on ‘Greater Israel’ and Expansionist Plans

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman has strongly condemned recent statements by the Prime Minister of the Israeli government concerning the so-called “Greater Israel,” rejecting what it described as illegal expansionist schemes that blatantly violate international law and infringe upon the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on their own lands in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem as its capital.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that such expansionist propositions pose a direct threat to regional security and stability, fueling hostility and tension at a time when de-escalation, cooperation among regional states, and respect for the principles of sovereignty and good neighborliness are most needed.
Oman reaffirmed its steadfast position in supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of regional states, while firmly rejecting any schemes aimed at undermining national entities or altering the political geography of the region.
The statement reiterated the Sultanate’s unwavering commitment to upholding the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to establish an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Oman also urged the international community to take a resolute stance against these aggressive policies and to work toward safeguarding Palestinian rights, ensuring the realization of a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
