Oman Intensifies Diplomatic Efforts, Calls for Immediate Ceasefire Amid Escalating Middle East Conflict

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi has stepped up diplomatic engagements aimed at easing mounting tensions in the Middle East amid the ongoing Israeli-American war on Iran.
During a series of consultations with foreign ministers from Arab and friendly nations, Sayyid Badr called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and underscored the urgent need to prevent further escalation.
In his discussions, the Omani foreign minister stressed that sustainable security, stability, and lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, negotiation, and consensus on unresolved regional issues. He urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid actions that could intensify the conflict and destabilize the broader region.
Ministers from across the region echoed Oman’s position, expressing deep concern over the humanitarian, political, and economic repercussions of continued military operations. They warned that reliance on military solutions would exacerbate divisions, increase civilian suffering, and risk drawing the wider region — and potentially the international community — into a serious and prolonged crisis.
The participating ministers collectively emphasized that constructive diplomacy remains the only viable path forward. They called for renewed dialogue and meaningful engagement to address the root causes of the conflict, highlighting the urgent need for de-escalation and a return to peaceful resolution efforts.
