Oman Launches Eid Al Fitr Tourism Campaign to Boost Domestic Travel

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman is set to promote domestic tourism during the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday, offering residents and visitors an opportunity to explore the country’s rich natural and cultural diversity.
In this regard, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has launched a nationwide campaign enabling various governorates to host a wide range of cultural and entertainment activities throughout the festive period.
The campaign will feature folklore performances, theatrical shows, competitions, and special offerings from traditional food stalls and handicraft vendors, creating a vibrant festive atmosphere across the country.
Officials said the initiative aims to stimulate the national economy by increasing demand for tourist destinations in different regions, while catering to the diverse interests of society. Families are encouraged to visit historical landmarks, cultural sites, and shopping centres, while adventure enthusiasts can engage in activities such as mountain climbing, camping, cave exploration, valley excursions, and maritime trips.
The campaign is also expected to boost hotel occupancy rates and strengthen inter-governorate tourism, reinforcing the sector’s contribution to economic diversification in line with Oman Vision 2040.
