Oman Participates in 162nd Meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers in Cairo
Cairo, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman participated in the 162nd meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers on Tuesday, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo. The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs.
The meeting focused on addressing the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank, with particular emphasis on the genocide crimes committed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) against the Palestinian people. The recent escalation of violence has resulted in the martyrdom, injury, and disappearance of over 145,000 Palestinian civilians over nearly a year.
Participants underscored the necessity of a ceasefire as the sole viable solution to the crisis in Gaza. They condemned the continued violations of international covenants and treaties by the Israeli Occupation Forces and the repeated crimes against civilians.
The meeting called for a stronger international stance against Israel’s actions in the Palestinian territories and emphasized the urgent need for a two-state solution. It reaffirmed the goal of establishing a Palestinian state with Al Quds Al Sharqiya (East Jerusalem) as its capital, based on the 1967 borders.
The discussions reflect a collective Arab commitment to addressing the humanitarian crisis and working towards a lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
