Oman Participates in Launch of Declaration for Protection of Humanitarian Personnel at UNGA 80

New York, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the launch of the “Declaration for the Protection of Humanitarian Personnel” at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Monday, as part of its participation in the opening of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The declaration reflects the international community’s collective political and humanitarian will to ensure the safe and rapid delivery of humanitarian assistance to civilians affected by armed conflicts. It was signed on behalf of the Sultanate by Ali bin Ahmed Al Najjar, member of the International Organizations Department at the Foreign Ministry.
Ahead of the General Assembly session, Omar bin Said Al Kathiri, Oman’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, attended a coordination meeting of GCC foreign ministers. The meeting focused on strengthening strategic relations and dialogue between GCC states and global blocs, while also reviewing key regional and international developments.
In parallel, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Foreign Ministry, met with Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The two officials discussed various aspects of joint cooperation in areas of mutual interest and exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues.
Oman’s active participation at UNGA 80 underscores its commitment to multilateral diplomacy and to supporting global efforts aimed at peace, humanitarian protection, and sustainable development.
