Oman Showcases Tourism Investment Opportunities at ‘Oman in a 360° Perspective’ Event in Riyadh

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, hosted the ‘Oman in a 360° Perspective’ event on Tuesday, aiming to spotlight investment prospects in Oman’s tourism sector and foster collaboration with the Saudi market.

The event, held in Riyadh and graced by H H Sayyid Faisal bin Turki al Said, Oman’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, attracted key authorities, tourism companies, and investors. It focused on illuminating the ongoing and upcoming tourism projects in Oman, emphasizing the importance of strengthening partnerships between tourism entities in both countries.

H H Sayyid Faisal highlighted the event’s crucial role in bringing Omani and Saudi investors together, fostering a deeper understanding of tourism investment opportunities in Oman and instilling confidence among Saudi investors for participation in Omani tourism projects.

Visual presentations and bilateral discussions facilitated interactions between representatives of entities dedicated to tourism development in Oman and Saudi Arabia.

H E Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Tourism in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, stated that the event aligns with efforts to activate strategic partnerships in the tourism sector. It seeks to enhance collaborative opportunities and open new avenues for the tourism sector with Saudi Arabia, leveraging existing facilities and tourism development plans outlined in Oman Vision 2040.

In 2023, Oman experienced a substantial increase in tourist arrivals, reaching 4 million visitors, marking a 36.7% increase compared to 2022. This growth underscores the tourism sector’s pivotal role in attracting investment, developing a diverse and integrated industry, supporting local communities, and creating employment opportunities for Omani nationals.

The event in Riyadh also showcased Oman’s unique natural landscapes, promoting the sultanate as a distinctive and authentic tourist destination. Participants from Oman included the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the National Investment and Export Promotion Programme, Omran Group, and several companies engaged in Oman’s tourism sector.
