Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman will celebrate on Sunday the anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s Accession Day, marking a moment of national pride and renewed commitment to the country’s renaissance. The occasion underscores Oman’s continued development under a clear and ambitious vision aimed at strengthening governance, transparency, and sustainable growth.

The eleventh of January serves as an opportunity for Omanis and residents alike to reaffirm loyalty and gratitude to the Sultan, and to contribute to the advancement of the “Oman of the Renewed Renaissance,” ensuring a prosperous future for generations to come.

Oman’s national development is guided by the principles of good governance, institutional integrity, and sustainable development, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. Zahra Mohammed Ridha Al Lawati, Deputy Chairperson of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, highlighted that the Sultan’s vision has strengthened transparency and accountability in state institutions, empowering oversight bodies and fostering public trust. Oman has made significant progress in the Corruption Perceptions Index, rising 20 positions in 2024 to rank 50th globally and fourth among Arab nations.

Sayyid Adil Al-Murdas Al Busaidi, Member of the State Council, noted that the Sultan’s leadership has modernized state institutions, reduced bureaucratic overlaps, introduced digital platforms, and enhanced the efficiency of government services. These reforms are aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and aim to support comprehensive sustainable development.

Mubarak Khamis Al Hamdani, Director of the National Foresight Office, emphasized that Oman’s development strategy rests on four pillars: building a solid foundation for social and economic plans, leveraging legislative and institutional frameworks, managing development through clear indicators, and balancing economic growth with societal well-being.

Under Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Oman has also strengthened its foreign policy, promoting peace, dialogue, and regional stability while maintaining active international partnerships. Omani diplomacy continues to build trust-based relationships, mediate conflicts, and contribute to sustainable solutions globally, reflecting the nation’s commitment to stability and cooperation.
