Oman to Host International Conference on Heritage and Tourism

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) is partnering with the UNESCO Chair for World Heritage Management and Sustainable Tourism in the Arab Region to present the international conference, ‘Opportunities for Heritage: Fostering Innovation, Conservation, and Sustainability.’ The event is scheduled to unfold from February 24 to 27 at the German University of Technology in Oman, Halban.
Under the esteemed patronage of H E Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, the conference will delve into the economic and social potentials of both tangible and intangible heritage. This strategic initiative reflects a commitment at the highest levels to preserving and innovatively utilizing heritage for sustainable development.
An official from MHT highlighted the conference’s focus on identifying and leveraging heritage as a catalyst for economic and social growth.
