Oman Welcomes US-Led Ceasefire Initiative in Gaza

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman has expressed its support for the ceasefire initiative proposed by US President Joe Biden to halt hostilities in the Gaza Strip. This initiative was established through collaboration with the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt.

In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry today, Oman affirmed its endorsement of efforts aimed at ending the Israeli aggression and addressing the suffering endured by the Palestinian people. The Sultanate urged all parties involved to engage positively with such initiatives, emphasizing the importance of preserving the legitimate rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people and alleviating their hardship.

Oman expressed hope that this ceasefire would bring about a cessation of Israeli aggression, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, and pave the way for the region’s reconstruction and restoration of normalcy.

Furthermore, Oman voiced its aspirations that this initiative would mark a significant step towards enabling the Palestinian people to reclaim their legitimate rights and establish an independent state with East Jerusalem (Al Quds A’Sharqiyah) as its capital.

The Sultanate’s support highlights its commitment to peace and stability in the region, advocating for diplomatic solutions to longstanding conflicts and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state.
