Omani and UK Foreign Ministers Discuss Humanitarian Issues

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: In a diplomatic outreach aimed at fostering bilateral relations and addressing critical humanitarian issues, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, initiated a telephone conversation with David Lammy, the newly appointed UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, on Friday.
During the call, Sayyid Badr extended his congratulations to David Lammy on his recent appointment, expressing his best wishes for success in his new role. Emphasizing the importance of robust collaboration between Oman and the United Kingdom, the ministers discussed various pressing issues, particularly focusing on the dire humanitarian situation facing the Palestinian people in Gaza and other occupied territories.
Sayyid Badr and Secretary Lammy underscored the urgent need for international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire and to facilitate humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of civilians. They highlighted the significance of releasing prisoners and detainees, as well as the imperative of advancing towards a comprehensive and enduring peace, anchored on the principles of the two-state solution and the recognition of an independent Palestinian state.
The telephone call between the two ministers reaffirmed the longstanding ties between Oman and the United Kingdom, underscoring their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
