Omani Foreign Minister Visits Grand Egyptian Museum, Highlights Cultural Cooperation with Egypt

Cairo, The Gulf Observer: As part of his official visit to the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi on Thursday visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, where he explored the institution’s rare archaeological collections reflecting the depth of Egyptian civilisation and its historic contributions to humanity.
During the visit, the Foreign Minister viewed prominent artefacts, including the statue of King Ramses II, the renowned treasures of King Tutankhamun, the solar boats of King Khufu, as well as antiquities dating back to the Old and Middle Kingdoms. These exhibits illustrate the development of art, architecture and intellectual thought in ancient Egyptian civilisation.
Sayyid Badr also received a detailed briefing on the museum’s sections and collections, which document different historical periods of Egyptian civilisation, alongside the application of advanced museum display methods.
The Foreign Minister praised the Grand Egyptian Museum for its cultural and civilisational role in showcasing Egypt’s historical heritage. He underscored the importance of strengthening cultural cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and Egypt to support civilisational integration and facilitate knowledge exchange between the two brotherly countries.
