Oman’s Foreign Minister Voices Alarm Over Undermined Negotiations, Urges Restraint

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, has expressed deep concern over recent developments that he said are undermining ongoing negotiations, warning that further escalation would not serve the interests of the United States or global peace.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Sayyid Badr said he was “dismayed” that “active and serious negotiations have yet again been undermined.”
“Neither the interests of the United States nor the cause of global peace are well served by this,” he wrote, adding that he prays for innocent civilians who may suffer as a result of the unfolding situation.
The Omani foreign minister also issued a direct appeal to Washington, urging it to avoid deeper involvement. “I urge the United States not to get sucked in further. This is not your war,” he stated.
Oman has long maintained a neutral stance in regional and international conflicts, positioning itself as a mediator and consistently advocating dialogue and diplomacy as the primary tools for resolving disputes.
Sayyid Badr’s remarks highlight Muscat’s growing concern over rising regional tensions and reaffirm its call for restraint to prevent further instability and preserve prospects for a negotiated solution.
