Pakistan, Azerbaijan Agree to Finalize Mechanism for Azerbaijani Investments in Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan and Azerbaijan have agreed to finalize a mechanism to facilitate Azerbaijani investments in selected sectors of Pakistan’s economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday.

Speaking at the weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, discussed the implementation of Azerbaijan’s proposed investment of US$2 billion in Pakistan during a recent telephone conversation.

The spokesperson highlighted that the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the significance of high-level engagements in strengthening Pakistan–Azerbaijan cooperation across areas of mutual interest. Both sides agreed to finalize a mechanism to ensure the smooth facilitation of Azerbaijani investments in the identified sectors of Pakistan’s economy.

The development marks a significant step toward deepening economic collaboration and expanding bilateral trade and investment ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
