Pakistan Honors Turkish Commander with Nishan-e-Imtiaz Military Award
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: In a gesture of deep appreciation and bilateral camaraderie, Pakistan bestowed one of its highest military honors upon General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu, the esteemed commander of the Turkish Land Forces.
President Asif Ali Zardari presided over the dignified ceremony on Monday at the President’s House in Islamabad, where General Bayraktaroglu was conferred with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, or Order of Excellence (Military). This prestigious accolade recognizes Bayraktaroglu’s illustrious services and remarkable contributions to fortifying defense ties between Türkiye and Pakistan, as reported by state-run Radio Pakistan.
The event, attended by foreign diplomats and high-ranking military officials, underscored the significance of the enduring partnership between the two nations in matters of defense and security.
The Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) holds a paramount position among Pakistan’s military awards, reserved for the highest echelons of military leadership, including distinguished foreign officers.
This accolade for General Bayraktaroglu follows Pakistan’s recent conferment of the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Turkish Chief of General Staff General Metin Gurak earlier this month. These honors symbolize the mutual respect and solidarity between Pakistan and Türkiye, reflecting their shared commitment to fostering strategic cooperation and mutual support.
Through such gestures of recognition and appreciation, both countries reaffirm their enduring friendship and dedication to advancing shared goals of peace, security, and prosperity in the region.
