Pakistan, Kazakhstan Explore Enhanced Tourism Cooperation and Industry Linkages

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Yerzhan Kistafin, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, held a meeting on Wednesday with Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, National Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Tourism, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Ambassador Kistafin highlighted the key outcomes of the state visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Islamabad in February this year. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the high-level engagements held during the visit, describing them as productive and substantive.

Building on the understandings reached, the two officials explored opportunities to further deepen collaboration in tourism, with a particular focus on enhancing partnerships among tour operators, hospitality businesses, and specialized educational institutions in both countries.

During the meeting, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan conveyed his intention to lead a delegation to various cities in Kazakhstan later this year. The planned visit aims to facilitate direct engagement with relevant government authorities and key stakeholders in Kazakhstan’s tourism industry, with a view to promoting mutual investment and people-to-people exchanges.

The meeting reflects the growing momentum in Pakistan–Kazakhstan relations and underscores both countries’ commitment to unlocking the full potential of tourism as a driver of economic cooperation and cultural connectivity.
