Pakistan, Morocco Sign MoU to Enhance Defence Cooperation

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan and the Kingdom of Morocco have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on defence cooperation, marking a significant milestone in further strengthening bilateral defence and security collaboration between the two countries.

The MoU was signed during an official visit by Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif to the Kingdom of Morocco, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.

During the visit, the Defence Minister held a meeting with Mr. Abdellatif Loudiyi, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration of Morocco. The two sides also held delegation-level talks focusing on enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Separately, Khawaja Muhammad Asif met with Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates of the Kingdom of Morocco. The discussions provided an opportunity to exchange views on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.

At the conclusion of the meetings, the two sides exchanged gifts. On the occasion, the Federal Minister for Defence presented a Pakistan-made football to the Moroccan Defence Minister as a goodwill gesture.

Earlier, the Defence Minister visited the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where he offered Fateha and signed the Mausoleum Guests Book.

The engagements reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and Morocco to peace, stability, and cooperation. The visit reflects the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries and underscores their mutual desire to further deepen cooperation in defence, security, and other areas of shared interest, the press release added.
