Pakistan to Host All-Parties Conference to Show Solidarity with Palestinians
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: The federal government of Pakistan has announced its decision to host an all-parties conference (APC) next week to express solidarity with Palestinians facing atrocities at the hands of Israeli forces. The decision was made during a meeting on Friday between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and a Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) delegation led by its emir, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.
According to a statement issued by the PM Office, the leaders of various political parties agreed to stand united in support of Palestinians on a national level. As part of this initiative, a “Day of Solidarity with Palestine” will be observed across Pakistan on October 7, to condemn the brutalities inflicted upon innocent Palestinian men, women, and children.
The APC, scheduled for October 7, will be attended by prominent political figures, including former President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who will highlight the plight of the Palestinian people. This day also marks one year since the onset of increased Israeli aggression, which led to the martyrdom of over 42,500 Palestinians, the majority of whom were women and children.
In addition to the APC, nationwide gatherings and seminars will be organized to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis in Palestine and to protest against Israeli aggression. To ensure the success of these initiatives, the prime minister has approved the formation of a committee that includes Deputy PM Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafique, and PPP leaders Sherry Rehman and Nayyar Bukhari.
The meeting also commended Jamaat-e-Islami’s consistent stance in supporting the Palestinians in Gaza.
