Pakistan, Turkiye Reaffirm Strategic Ties; Jointly Condemn Israeli Aggression

Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: Pakistan and Turkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and strengthening strategic ties, while jointly condemning Israel’s continued military aggression in Gaza and expressing firm support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in accordance with international law.
The reaffirmation came during a key meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul, Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday. Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, also attended the meeting, highlighting the comprehensive nature of the Pakistan–Turkiye strategic partnership.
During the talks, both sides condemned Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza, calling it a flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian principles. They emphasized the urgent need to end the military offensive and ensure the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian population.
The leaders also reiterated their support for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the country’s right to self-defence under the United Nations Charter. They agreed on the necessity of pursuing diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation in the region and urged the international community to take immediate steps toward restoring peace and stability.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar conveyed warm greetings from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to President Erdogan and expressed Pakistan’s deep appreciation for its historic and resilient relationship with Turkiye, grounded in shared values, mutual trust, and common goals.
Dar also congratulated President Erdogan on the successful hosting of the OIC foreign ministers’ summit and commended him for receiving a leadership award from the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, in recognition of his efforts to promote the collective interests of the Muslim world.
