Pakistan Welcomes Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov with Formal Ceremony at PM House

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: A formal welcome ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s House on Thursday in honour of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, who is on an official visit to Pakistan.
A contingent of Pakistan’s armed forces presented a guard of honour to the visiting head of state, accompanied by the playing of the national anthems of both countries. Senior officials were in attendance at the ceremony, marking the beginning of President Zhaparov’s official engagements in Islamabad.
President Zhaparov arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday for his maiden state visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Upon his arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, he was warmly received by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Two children dressed in traditional attire presented bouquets to the Kyrgyz president, while a ceremonial gun salute echoed in the background to honour his arrival. Along the route of his motorcade, young children waving Pakistani and Kyrgyz flags welcomed the visiting dignitary. The smartly turned-out Presidential Body Guard contingent also presented a static salute.
President Zhaparov is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including senior cabinet members, government officials, and leading business figures.
During his visit, the Kyrgyz president is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari, hold a tête-à-tête and delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and address the Pakistan–Kyrgyzstan Business Forum.
Both sides are expected to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explore new avenues of cooperation across diverse fields, including trade, energy, defence, education, regional connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.
The last presidential visit from the Kyrgyz Republic to Pakistan took place in January 2005, making this visit a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations.
