Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President Masoud Pezeshkian has lauded Oman’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, expressing Iran’s readiness to further expand cooperation with the Sultanate across diverse sectors.

Speaking during a meeting with Omani Interior Minister Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi in Tehran on Monday, President Pezeshkian underscored that relations between the two neighboring countries have consistently been founded on “brotherhood, mutual respect, and goodwill,” noting their history of mutual support through regional challenges.

He commended Oman’s constructive role in hosting and facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, describing Muscat’s approach as “wise and peace-seeking.”

“Iran is prepared to broaden its interactions with Oman in all scientific, economic, cultural, social, and political areas,” the president affirmed, expressing confidence that the Omani minister’s visit would further strengthen bilateral relations.

President Pezeshkian also praised Oman’s “clear and firm stance” in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza and its condemnation of Israel’s actions, stating that if all Muslim nations had adopted similar positions, the region would not be witnessing such “painful and regrettable events.”

For his part, Minister Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi described Oman’s relations with Iran as “special, deep, and sincere.” He highlighted President Pezeshkian’s visit to Muscat five months earlier and the agreements reached during that trip, noting that they had outlined a clear roadmap for future cooperation.

The Omani minister reaffirmed his country’s determination to continue strengthening its partnership with Iran, emphasizing Muscat’s commitment to advancing mutual interests and regional stability.
