Polish, Swedish Envoys asked to explore investment policies in Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Federal Minister for Board of Investment (BOI) Chaudhary Salik Hussain on Thursday assured the foreign investors that the government would facilitate them in doing business in the country and asked them to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan as there are immense investment openings in different sectors.

He expressed these views while talking to Mr. Maciej Pisarski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Pakistan and Mr. Henrik Persson, Ambassador of Sweden in Pakistan who separately called on him in his office. Director General, BOI Nadeem Bashir was also present in the meetings.

Chaudhry Salik briefed the Polish and Swedish Ambassadors about the investment friendly policies of the government and urged them to take the maximum benefit from these policies. He highlighted the immense foreign investment opportunities in automobile and electric vehicles (EVs) sectors and said that there is no customs duty on the import of plant and machinery for the manufacturing of EVs.

Talking to the Ambassador of Poland, Chaudhry Salik Hussain said Pakistan has investment from two Polish companies in Oil and Gas exploration sector, however he said that keeping in view the close friendly ties between the two countries, more companies from Poland should come forward to invest in Pakistan.

The minister, while talking to the Ambassador of Sweden, assured to solve the problems faced by the Swedish companies working in Pakistan.
