Prabowo Highlights Three Pillars of True Independence Ahead of Indonesia’s 80th Anniversary

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto has underscored that true independence can only be realized by achieving three national goals set forth in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution: ensuring prosperity, educating the nation, and contributing actively to world peace.
The message was conveyed by Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Head Hasan Nasbi in Jakarta on Thursday.
“We have been independent for 80 years, yet the president often reminds us that poverty still exists. We must strive to eliminate it,” Nasbi said, noting President Prabowo’s concern over the number of Indonesian children still out of school and the nation’s continued reliance on foreign sources for food and energy.
“We must also be free from dependency, particularly on food and energy supplies,” he emphasized.
Nasbi stated that the government is committed to achieving these ideals through policies and programs aimed at public welfare, national self-reliance, and the advancement of Indonesian civilization. “Those goals will be fulfilled by the government, leading to true independence,” he remarked.
Indonesia will celebrate its 80th Independence Day on August 17, 2025, under the theme “United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, and Advanced Indonesia,” reflecting the shared aspirations of leaders and citizens.
The flag-raising ceremony will take place at the State Palace, led by President Prabowo. For the first time, celebrations will include a People’s Party at the Presidential Palace, offering free food and beverages, alongside a similar event at the National Monument (Monas) running from morning to evening.
Festivities will conclude with an Independence Carnival in the evening, featuring ministries, government agencies, the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), and the National Police (Polri) parading decorated vehicles to showcase their flagship programs.
