Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto has reiterated his unwavering stance against corruption, emphasizing that he will take decisive action against those who obstruct his administration’s welfare programs.

“Our opponents are the corrupt, the thieves. We are not afraid of them; we will continue to eradicate them,” he declared during the 17th anniversary celebration of the Gerindra Party in Sentul, West Java, on Saturday.

Prabowo stated that corrupt individuals have been repeatedly warned to return stolen public funds, yet they have disregarded these ultimatums. As a result, his government, under the Red and White Cabinet, remains resolute in eliminating corruption.

On Friday, while addressing the World Government Summit 2025, Prabowo highlighted the alarming corruption rate in the country. He pointed out that fraudulent activities such as embezzlement of government funds and biased tax policies favoring businesses have severely harmed society.

To counteract corruption, Prabowo’s administration has implemented budget cuts, leading to savings of approximately US$20 billion, which will be redirected toward strategic and sustainable development projects.

“I am certain that if I do not safeguard these funds, they will simply vanish. I face resistance from the entrenched bureaucracy—some believe they are untouchable. However, I am determined to act and enforce the law,” he affirmed.
