Premier Li Qiang Highlights Economic Opportunities at Summer Davos Symposium

Dalian, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended a symposium for foreign business representatives at the 15th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos, in northeast China’s coastal city of Dalian on Tuesday.

The symposium, chaired by Klaus Schwab, executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, was attended by 200 business representatives from over 40 countries and regions.

After listening to the representatives’ speeches, Premier Li emphasized that China’s ongoing economic recovery, long-term improvements, and significant transformations will create extensive opportunities for global enterprises.

Premier Li highlighted China’s efforts in counter-cyclical and cross-cyclical regulation of macro policies, the aggregation of policy resources to promote high-quality development, and the optimization of the economic structure. “We have the confidence to achieve the economic and social development targets set for this year and the ability to maintain sound economic growth in the long run,” he asserted.

Li outlined China’s focus on industrial innovation through scientific and technological advancements, aiming to develop a modern industrial system. This includes fostering emerging industries, planning future-oriented industries, and upgrading traditional industries with advanced technologies to accelerate the development of new productive forces.

Premier Li reiterated China’s commitment to working with global enterprises to promote innovative development worldwide. “Enterprises are the key to economic vitality,” he stressed, noting China’s efforts to create a market-oriented, law-based, world-class business environment, build a unified national market, and support the growth of diverse business entities.

China will continue to expand high-level opening-up, relax market access, open up the service sector, and steadily enhance institutional opening-up, providing more opportunities and a better environment for global investors.

Premier Li expressed hope that entrepreneurs from around the world would firmly support economic globalization and free trade, inviting them to invest in China and share in the dividends of its high-quality development.

Foreign representatives at the symposium expressed appreciation for the Chinese government’s efforts to improve the business environment. They pledged support for China’s development of new productive forces and confirmed their commitment to continued investment in China, contributing positively to the promotion of international exchanges and cooperation.
