President Aliyev Congratulates Azerbaijani Youth on Youth Day

Youth Day

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev on Sunday congratulated the youth of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Youth Day, marked annually on February 2, extending his best wishes for good health, high spirits, and success in their future endeavors.

In his message, the head of state recalled that 30 years ago, at the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the first All-Republican Youth Forum was held, creating a broad and open platform for dialogue. He noted that the tradition of commemorating that day as Youth Day and regularly organizing such forums demonstrates that youth policy remains a key priority within the country’s socially oriented state agenda.

President Aliyev emphasized that over the past decades, the implementation of state programs has created favorable conditions for the personal development of young people, enhanced their socio-political activity, and strengthened their role in the process of state-building.

“It is gratifying that a modern, intellectual generation has emerged in Azerbaijan today—one that is deeply committed to our national and moral values while keeping pace with global development trends,” the president said. He added that Azerbaijani youth serve as a driving force in strengthening the state across all sectors, from the economy and science to culture, while also contributing to the development of civil society and the promotion of the country’s rich cultural heritage internationally.

The president also highlighted the role of youth during the 44-day Patriotic War, describing it as a major test for the younger generation. He said that, fueled by patriotism and supported by comprehensive state policies, young Azerbaijanis demonstrated exceptional heroism, with many playing a decisive role in ending nearly three decades of occupation and affirming the nation’s resolve for victory.

“This chronicle of Victory stands as an eternal symbol of the Azerbaijani youth’s boundless love for the Motherland and their unshakable will,” the message said.

Expressing confidence in the future, President Aliyev said he believes Azerbaijani youth will continue to make meaningful contributions to the country’s development in the new renaissance period of its modern history through their innovative potential and creative energy.
