President Aliyev Expresses Gratitude to Trump for Remarks on Historic Washington Summit
Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for remarks posted on the Truth Social platform regarding the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
In a statement shared on his official X social media account, President Aliyev conveyed his appreciation: “Thank you, President Donald Trump, for your kind words on your TruthSocial account. I deeply appreciate your important role in advancing the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and in hosting the historic Washington Summit. You are the architect of the eternal friendship and the emerging strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States. I greatly value our friendship.”
On September 16, President Trump wrote on Truth Social about the August 8 historic meeting in Washington with President Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. He stated that it was an honor to have contributed to settling the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia and to have developed friendships with the two leaders.
