President Aliyev Says Governance Model in Garabagh and East Zangezur Could Be Expanded Nationwide

President Aliyev

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has said that the governance model currently applied in Garabagh and East Zangezur could in the future be extended to other regions of the country, and potentially implemented nationwide.

Speaking in an interview with local television channels on January 5, President Aliyev described the model as an operational and flexible administrative approach that requires the involvement of fewer officials.

“The governance model applied in Garabagh and East Zangezur can one day be applied to different parts of the country, perhaps to the country as a whole. This is an operational, flexible administrative method that requires the participation of fewer officials,” the head of state said.

President Aliyev emphasized that the country’s overall development depends on the dedication and responsibility of every citizen, particularly public officials. He stressed the importance of working with sincerity and commitment, especially in the period following what he described as a historic victory that has fostered a strong sense of pride and optimism in society.

“In any case, for our general development, every person, especially an official, must work with his heart, particularly after such a magnificent and historic Victory, when there is such a positive mood in society,” he said.

The President added that arbitrariness and problems within society should not be tolerated, calling for greater accountability at all levels of governance.

“We have all been living the last five years as a proud and happy nation. Therefore, we should not tolerate problems in society or the arbitrariness of officials. We should all be more intolerant of this, including myself,” President Aliyev noted.
