President Berdimuhamedov Attends Award Ceremony for Students and Athletes
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday participated in a ceremonial presentation of cash awards and valuable prizes at the Martial Arts Center in Ashgabat, according to the Watan habarlary news program.
The ceremony honored school pupils and university students who secured top positions in international academic olympiads, along with their teachers. Cash awards were also presented to Turkmen athletes who won medals at international competitions, as well as to the coaches responsible for their preparation and success on the global stage.
Under the established award scheme, third-place winners received cash incentives of 40,000 manats, second-place winners were granted 70,000 manats, while first-place winners were awarded 100,000 manats.
In addition, athletes who captured gold medals at international sports tournaments were presented with 2025 model Toyota Camry passenger cars.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, award recipients expressed their gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for their continued attention to the development of sports and sustained support for youth and education.
