President Emomali Rahmon Inaugurates New Islamic Institute and Social Facilities in Dushanbe

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: On August 21 President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, together with Chairman of the City of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali, inaugurated the new building of the Imom Azam – Abu Hanifa Numan ibn Sabit Islamic Institute of Tajikistan, located in the Sino district of the capital, the presidential press service reported.

The state-of-the-art facility, built with funds from the Reserve Fund of the President and contributions from national entrepreneurs, reflects the architectural and cultural traditions of Tajikistan.

Spread over two hectares, the institute consists of seven buildings with 6–8 floors, including 90 classrooms, an assembly hall with 513 seats, an electronic library, sports and medical facilities, and a dormitory for 520 students. Training halls are equipped with modern industry-standard equipment to provide practical learning.

The President also toured the institute’s museum, which houses rare copies of the Holy Quran, manuscripts, historic works of Tajik scholars, and calligraphic artifacts.

Alongside the institute, several other key social facilities were inaugurated in Dushanbe:

  • A new building of the City Clinical Hospital for Intoxication and Burn Injuries in Firdavsi district, with 167 rooms and 230 beds, offering advanced medical services across multiple specialties.
  • Secondary School No. 4 in the Shohmansur district, designed to educate 1,450 students in two shifts.
  • State Preschool No. 59 in Ismoili Somoni district, accommodating 450 children.

These inaugurations reflect Tajikistan’s continued investment in education, healthcare, and social infrastructure, strengthening the capital’s development and improving services for its citizens.
