Tajikistan and South Korea Hold Talks to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Tajikistan and South Korea have discussed ways to further expand and deepen their bilateral cooperation, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

The discussions took place on April 6, 2026, during a meeting between Tajikistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Idibek Kalandar, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Tajikistan, Jeon Sung-sik.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and explored prospects for advancing cooperation across various sectors. Particular attention was given to preparations for the upcoming first Summit of Heads of State within the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” Cooperation Forum.

Tajikistan and South Korea have been steadily strengthening their partnership in recent years, with growing collaboration in trade, investment, infrastructure development, education, and technology.

South Korea has actively supported Tajikistan’s development through grant aid, concessional financing, and various capacity-building initiatives, while also facilitating knowledge exchange between the two nations.

The meeting reflects the continued commitment of both countries to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation and elevate their partnership to a new level.
