President Erdogan Affirms Türkiye's Commitment to Achieving Full Independence in Defence Industry

Cankiri, The Gulf Observer: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated Türkiye’s unwavering dedication to attaining complete independence in the defence industry during an election rally held in Türkiye’s Cankiri province, as reported on Friday.

Addressing the gathering, President Erdogan affirmed Türkiye’s steadfast resolve, stating, “We will not waver or retreat until we reach our objective of achieving full independence in the defence industry.” This declaration underscores Türkiye’s enduring commitment to advancing its capabilities and sovereignty in defence-related matters.

Highlighting Türkiye’s strides in indigenous aerospace technology, President Erdogan announced that the KAAN, Türkiye’s domestically produced fighter aircraft, is scheduled for delivery in 2028. He emphasized that the deployment of KAAN will fortify Türkiye’s airspace and contribute to safeguarding national security interests.

Moreover, President Erdogan disclosed Türkiye’s ambitious plans for expanding its naval capabilities, revealing preparations for the construction of an expanded aircraft carrier following the TCG Anadolu.

In addressing the issue of terrorism, President Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s unwavering stance against terrorist organizations, asserting, “There is no safe haven for terrorist groups.” He underscored Türkiye’s vigilance in detecting and neutralizing threats beyond its borders, noting the successful operations conducted against terrorist elements located approximately 300-350 kilometers away.

President Erdogan’s remarks underscore Türkiye’s steadfast commitment to enhancing its defence capabilities, bolstering national security, and asserting its sovereignty in the face of evolving regional challenges.
