President Erdogan and President Aliyev Discuss Regional Cooperation and Strategic Relations
Baku, The Gulf Observer: On December 24, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, extending warm birthday wishes and addressing critical regional and bilateral issues.
President Erdogan congratulated President Aliyev on his birthday, expressing his best wishes for continued success in his leadership and good health. President Aliyev conveyed his gratitude for the thoughtful gesture.
During the call, President Erdogan also congratulated Azerbaijan on its recent accession to the Developing Eight (D-8) Organization for Economic Cooperation, highlighting the significance of this milestone for the country’s economic integration and collaboration with member states. President Aliyev thanked Türkiye for its steadfast support in facilitating Azerbaijan’s inclusion in the organization.
The two leaders discussed the Azerbaijan-Armenia reconciliation process and broader regional security concerns. They expressed satisfaction with developments in Syria following the downfall of the Assad regime and agreed to cooperate on initiatives to support Syria’s social and economic recovery.
Both presidents reaffirmed the strength of the friendship, brotherhood, and strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, expressing confidence in the continued development of their cooperation across all sectors. The call concluded with an exchange of views on future collaborative efforts and upcoming engagements.
