President Erdogan Extends Eid al-Adha Greetings, Calls for Peace and Tranquility
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan extended his heartfelt Eid al-Adha greetings on Sunday, wishing for peace and tranquility across Türkiye and the broader cultural region.
“I wholeheartedly congratulate our nation and the Islamic world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha,” President Erdogan wrote on X. “I hope that this holiday brings peace to our hearts, tranquility to our country, and peace to our spiritual geography, especially Palestine and Sudan,” he added.
Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice, commemorates Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son at God’s command. In line with this spirit of sacrifice and compassion, President Erdogan reiterated Türkiye’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people, who are celebrating their holiday amid severe hardship.
“I wholeheartedly congratulate my brothers in Gaza on the occasion of Eid al-Adha as they celebrate the holiday while enduring the atrocities by genocidal Israel. I wish that our brothers who are suffering, oppressed, and massacred every day will find peace, security, and stability as soon as possible,” the Turkish president said.
Since October 7 of last year, Türkiye has maintained a firm stance against Israel’s actions in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian Territories, which are viewed as genocidal policies. In solidarity with the Palestinian people, Türkiye has sent over 55,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
President Erdogan’s message underscores Türkiye’s commitment to supporting oppressed communities and striving for peace and justice in the region. As the nation celebrates Eid al-Adha, these sentiments resonate deeply, reinforcing the values of compassion, solidarity, and hope for a better future.
