President Ilham Aliyev Approves January 2026 Military Conscription Order
Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order authorizing the conscription of Azerbaijani citizens for active military service and the transfer of servicemen from active duty to reserve units for the period January 1–30, 2026.
Under the presidential order, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan born in 2008 who will have reached the age of 18 by the date of conscription, as well as citizens born between 1996 and 2007 who are under the age of 30 and do not qualify for deferment, will be drafted into active military service during the specified period.
The order outlines the framework for ensuring the timely and orderly implementation of conscription procedures, in accordance with national legislation governing military duty and service obligations.
