President Ilham Aliyev Highlights Azerbaijan’s Expanding Role in Global Digital Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President Ilham Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s growing prominence in the global digital landscape, stating that by hosting the World Telecommunication Development Conference, Baku has strengthened its position not only as a global telecommunications hub but also as an international platform for digital cooperation.
In his address to participants of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) World Telecommunication Development Conference, President Aliyev underscored the strategic importance of the event for Azerbaijan’s digital transformation and international engagement.
He announced that, within the framework of the conference, the opening of an ITU Regional Acceleration Centre in Baku is planned. “This Centre, which will become part of the ITU’s global innovation network, will transform into a leading platform for innovation and entrepreneurship in the region,” the President said.
The establishment of the new centre is expected to deepen regional collaboration, foster technological advancement, and further integrate Azerbaijan into global digital initiatives.
