President Ilham Aliyev Marks Fifth Anniversary of Zangilan’s Liberation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has shared a commemorative post on his official social media accounts marking the fifth anniversary of the liberation of the city of Zangilan.

In his post, President Aliyev wrote:

“Our Victory History: October 20, 2020 – Zangilan.”

The message reflects the nation’s pride and enduring remembrance of the historic victory achieved during the Patriotic War of 2020, which led to the restoration of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty over Zangilan and other districts previously under occupation.

Zangilan, located in Azerbaijan’s southwestern region, was liberated by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on October 20, 2020, marking a significant milestone in the country’s successful military campaign.

The anniversary serves as a reminder of the unity, determination, and resilience of the Azerbaijani people under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the nation’s ongoing efforts to rebuild and revitalize the liberated territories.
