President Ilham Aliyev Meets ICESCO Director-General to Discuss Enhanced Cooperation
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev met with the Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik, on Sunday to discuss ongoing and future collaboration efforts.
President Aliyev expressed his gratitude to the Director-General for participating in COP29 and acknowledged ICESCO’s contributions to the event. AlMalik, in turn, commended the high-level organization of the conference, highlighting Azerbaijan’s effective leadership in hosting the global gathering.
The meeting also emphasized the successful partnership between Azerbaijan and ICESCO. President Aliyev recalled the recent visit of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, to ICESCO’s headquarters in Morocco, where she held fruitful discussions with AlMalik. He extended his appreciation for the warm hospitality shown during the visit.
Both leaders expressed confidence in strengthening bilateral ties and exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the areas of education, science, and culture. The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing mutual goals.
