President Ilham Aliyev Meets Secretary-General of Muslim Council of Elders in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: On February 3, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, Mohamed Abdelsalam warmly recalled his previous visits to Azerbaijan and his meetings with President Ilham Aliyev. He once again congratulated the Azerbaijani leader on being awarded the prestigious Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, recognizing his contributions to promoting peace, dialogue, and human values.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his sincere gratitude for the congratulations and the high honor. He commended the efforts of the Zayed Foundation, highlighting its vital role in preserving and promoting the humanitarian legacy and universal human values of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the United Arab Emirates, on a global scale.

The meeting also noted that President Ilham Aliyev’s receipt of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity reflects the high appreciation of Pope Leo XIV and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, for his consistent efforts toward fostering peace, mutual understanding, and interfaith dialogue.
