President Mirziyoyev Condemns Drone Attacks on Azerbaijan in Call with President Aliyev

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on March 5, during which he strongly condemned the recent drone attacks targeting Azerbaijani territory.
During the call, President Mirziyoyev expressed his solidarity with Azerbaijan and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks. He strongly denounced the strikes and voiced concern over the growing instability in the region.
The two leaders also discussed the broader security situation, noting that the sharp escalation of tensions in the Middle East in recent days has resulted in numerous civilian casualties and raised serious international concern.
Both sides emphasized that such incidents occurring during the holy month of Ramadan contradict universal human values, international norms, and the principles of respect for the territorial integrity of states.
During the conversation, President Mirziyoyev also expressed appreciation to President Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s efforts in facilitating the safe evacuation of Uzbek citizens from Iran through Azerbaijani territory.
In response, President Aliyev conveyed his gratitude to Mirziyoyev for the friendly conversation and Uzbekistan’s support during what he described as a difficult time for Azerbaijan.
The leaders reaffirmed the importance of continued cooperation and mutual support between their countries in addressing regional challenges and humanitarian concerns.
