President Mirziyoyev Inaugurates Sapling Planting at Youth Park in Tashkent

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The ceremonial planting of saplings at the Youth Park, situated in the Sergeli district of Tashkent, represents a pivotal moment in Uzbekistan’s ongoing endeavor to expand green spaces and mitigate environmental challenges. Spearheaded by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the “Green Space” initiative has been instrumental in revitalizing urban ecosystems and promoting sustainable development since its inception in 2021.

The Youth Park, envisioned as a cornerstone of the broader “green belt” initiative in Tashkent, is set to encompass over 75 hectares, making it the second-largest park in the capital after the renowned “New Uzbekistan” park. Comprising seven distinct zones, the park will feature a myriad of recreational, cultural, and educational amenities aimed at catering to diverse interests and age groups.

During his visit to the park, President Mirziyoyev received a comprehensive briefing on the garden project, which includes plans for the construction of various facilities such as squares, an open amphitheater, gastronomic zones, and recreational areas. Notable attractions will include musical fountains, an open-air cinema, art exhibitions, and a range of interactive installations designed to engage visitors of all ages.

President Mirziyoyev underscored the historical significance of environmental stewardship in Uzbekistan, drawing parallels to the legacy of Amir Temur, who adorned cities like Samarkand with lush gardens and green spaces. Emphasizing the cultural and ecological importance of tree planting, President Mirziyoyev hailed the efforts to create green oases worthy of Uzbekistan’s rich heritage.

Furthermore, the President engaged with investors, designers, and foreign diplomats involved in the park project, underscoring the collaborative nature of Uzbekistan’s environmental initiatives and the importance of international cooperation in sustainable development endeavors.

In its initial phase, the Youth Park will be adorned with over a thousand ornamental trees, including species such as chestnut, oak, oriental maple, and magnolia, alongside a diverse array of shrubs and flowers. Upon completion, the park is expected to host approximately 20 thousand bushes, contributing to its natural allure and biodiversity.

Beyond its ecological significance, the establishment of the Youth Park is poised to generate economic opportunities, with over 350 jobs expected to be created upon its inauguration. Additionally, the park’s inauguration marks a broader trend of environmental consciousness across Uzbekistan, with numerous “green areas” and municipal parks being established nationwide, further enriching the country’s urban landscape and fostering sustainable development.
